Shardul Frey

Shardul is the Co-Founder and CTO of Yolando, where he leads engineering and has built the platform's technical infrastructure from the ground up.
Before Yolando, Shardul was a machine learning engineer at Loblaw Companies on PC Optimum, Canada's largest domestic commercial ML product with 20 million daily active users. Prior to that, he spent three years at KPMG in financial machine learning, building real-time signal detection systems for some of Canada's largest funds by AUM.
At BirdseyePost, Yolando's sister company and where the Yolando platform was originally incubated, he designed the audience targeting architecture that processes billions of real-time behavioral signals to power direct mail campaigns driving millions in attributed revenue.
Shardul co-founded Yolando alongside CEO Matt Bogoroch and COO Adam Bogoroch, and the Yolando's engineering team was recently recognized by Weave as one of the top five engineering teams globally by output! He's a strong believer that the best products come from engineers who sit close to customers, and you'll regularly find him in sales calls, customer interviews, and the #wins channel in Slack.
Shardul is based in Toronto, holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from Western University.
Outside of work, he's a hardcore, off-grid camper. His adventure trips are the stuff of folklore, and for ten years the same group of friends has kept signing up to disappear into the middle of nowhere with him - no cell service, no compromises.
