AI Platforms
Dec 4, 2024
Summarize this page with AI:
The Platforms page breaks down your AEO performance across each major AI platform, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity. Here, you can compare how your brand and your competitors are perceived by the different models that your customers are using every day.
Why This Page Matters
Not all AI platforms behave the same way; they use different training data, algorithms, and ranking factors. A strategy that works on one may not work on another. This page is crucial for:
Identifying Your Strongest and Weakest Channels: Discover if you are a dominant brand on ChatGPT but virtually unknown on Perplexity.
Analyzing Platform-Specific Competitor Strategies: See if a competitor is focusing their efforts and winning on a particular platform that you might be neglecting.
Diagnosing Performance Issues: If your overall discoverability drops, this page can help you quickly identify if the problem is isolated to a single platform.

Understanding the Different AI Platforms
Each AI platform has a unique user base and common use case. Understanding these nuances is key to interpreting your performance data.
Platform | Key Characteristics & Common Use Cases | Why It Matters for Your Brand |
ChatGPT (OpenAI) | The market leader and most well-known general-purpose AI, with over 800 million weekly active users. Used by a massive, broad audience for everything from creative writing and coding to general knowledge questions. | This is your baseline for mainstream brand awareness. Strong performance here indicates you are reaching the widest possible audience. |
Gemini (Google) | Deeply integrated into the Google ecosystem, including Android and, increasingly, Google Search. Excellent at accessing real-time information from the web. | This platform is your gateway to the massive Android and Google user base. Performance here is a strong signal of your brand's authority in Google's eyes. |
Perplexity AI | Positions itself as an "answer engine," not just a chatbot. It is heavily focused on providing accurate, factual answers with prominent source citations. Popular with researchers, academics, and professionals. | This audience has high research intent. Winning on Perplexity means your content is seen as highly credible and authoritative. Citation Share is a critical metric here. |
Claude (Anthropic) | Known for its large context window (ideal for analyzing long documents), sophisticated reasoning, and a focus on safety and ethics. Favored for professional writing, summarization, and complex analysis tasks. | This platform attracts users performing in-depth or professional tasks. Strong performance here suggests your brand is trusted for complex, nuanced information. |
How to Use the Platforms Page
The core of this page is a detailed breakdown that allows you to compare performance metrics side-by-side for each AI platform.
1. Platform Performance Charts
Instead of a single table, the page features a series of charts, with each chart focusing on one key AEO metric for your brand. Within each chart, every AI platform is represented by its own colored line or bar, making visual comparison instant and intuitive.
The charts cover your core metrics:
Discoverability
Share of Voice
Average Position
Citation Share
Reputation Score
How to read the charts:
In the "Discoverability" chart, for example, you can instantly see and compare your brand's Discoverability score on ChatGPT versus Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity all in one view. A high line for ChatGPT and a low line for Claude immediately tells you where your performance differs.

2. Analyzing Topic & Competitor Performance
Below the charts is a powerful data table that allows you to dive deeper and compare performance for specific topics or against your competitors.
How it's structured: The columns always represent the different AI Platforms. You can use the tabs at the top of the table to switch what the rows represent:
Competitors View: In this view, each row is one of your Tracked Competitors. This is where you can conduct deep competitive analysis and answer questions like, "Which competitor is winning the discoverability battle on Gemini?" or "Are we leading on ChatGPT but losing to a rival on Perplexity?"
Topics View: In this view, each row is one of your Topics. This allows you to answer questions like, "Which AI platform gives us the highest Share of Voice for our 'Enterprise Features' topic?"

This table is your primary tool for moving beyond your own metrics and understanding the full competitive landscape on a platform-by-platform basis.
Remember the Global Controls
The Date Range Filter, Topic Filter, and Competitor Impersonation mode work on this entire page. Use them to track performance over time or see all the charts and tables from a competitor's point of view.
